Are multiple entries permitted?

Absolutely!  You are welcome to submit as many projects as you like, as long as each project meets the eligibility requirements.

What type of information should be included in the Project Description?

In general, we encourage precise and short text. One should be aware that the jury is reviewing many projects within a limited time. Some projects might need some more explanatory text and some less. Most important – tell your story as to why this is an award winning submission.

NOTE: Do not include any credits (author's name, firm, project team, etc.) in the project descriptions. Projects with this information will be accepted, but will be disqualified and submissions will not be refunded.

When submitting the images should they be 72 dpi, 92 dpi, 150 dpi, 300 dpi?

We suggest that all images should be 1920 x 1080 pixels at 300dpi

Should I respond to more than one principle of the Framework for Design Excellence?

We highly encourage you respond to multiple principles. Some juries have discussed how the Framework for Design Excellence is integrated into the submission during their deliberations. You can learn more about the AIA Framework for Design Excellence on the Design Awards home page.

How important are the images?

Lead off with your best as that will be used at the Gala and end with your second best to leave a lasting impression on the jurors. Then think like a juror – what images will drive home why you have an award winning project.

*Please do not include text on your first image. This will be used for the Gala video and for the website banners.

Is there material to assist me in creating a strong submission?

Yes. Watch the ‘How to Prepare Your Submission’ Webinar found on the Design Awards home page, and review the ‘Creating A Strong Awards Entry’ found under the Submittal Instructions tab.
