Project Description:
When we first visited the site, we were stunned by the beauty of this 250-acre coastline located on the North coast of Egypt. Our team immediately felt how special this place was and it became our mission to turn our client’s Vision into reality.
“Imagine a place where people could walk barefoot anywhere within the community.”
Inspired by their vision of a truly magical place, we worked in close collaboration with our Landscape Team to create a destination where people would feel transported to another place.
We understood that the Masterplan needed to be unique, so we explored the rich history of Egyptian art & symbolism. At the end, the client was intrigued with our concept that would turn a large portion of the Master Plan into smaller man-made islands; and we created landforms that resemble the shape of a Lotus Flower.
The client wanted the Architecture to be contemporary and encouraged us to think outside the box. Inspired by the beauty of the site and nature that surrounded us, we designed a series of home types, and our goal was to maximize the views through large walls of glass and extensive cantilevered elements that would extend to the horizon.
Smeralda Bay will be the new “Crown Jewel” premier resort within all of the Egyptian North Coast. This incredible site
features over 700 meters of beautiful coastline beach frontage, a lush beachfront Hotel Resort, a swimmable
crystal lagoon, an island hotel, a boutique retail and dining experience, and luxury water and green space view-oriented
residential where residents and guests enjoy a lifestyle of relaxation, recreation, entertainment and adventure.

Design for Equitable Communities, Design for Water , Design for Well-being, Design for Resources, Design for Change
Design for Equitable Communities:
We aimed to create a space that fosters inclusivity and community. By designing areas where residents can walk barefoot throughout the community, we encouraged a sense of connection to the land and to each other. Our masterplan incorporates diverse public spaces that are accessible and welcoming to everyone, ensuring a vibrant, equitable community for all residents and visitors.
Design for Water:
Understanding the significance of water in this coastal region, our design emphasizes sustainable water management. The inclusion of a swimmable crystal lagoon and strategic landscaping ensures efficient water use and supports the local ecosystem. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also promotes the responsible use of this vital resource.
Design for Well-being:
Our design focuses on promoting the well-being of the residents by maximizing the natural beauty and tranquility of the site. The architectural design features large walls of glass and extensive cantilevered elements to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing residents to experience the health benefits of natural light, fresh air, and stunning views, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life.
Design for Resources:
In our exploration of Egyptian art and symbolism, we aimed to create a masterplan that honors cultural heritage while being resource-efficient. By designing smaller man-made islands in the shape of a Lotus Flower, we maximized land use and created unique, sustainable living spaces that harmonize with the natural environment and cultural context.
Design for Change:
Our contemporary architectural approach, inspired by the site's natural beauty, pushes the boundaries of conventional design. By incorporating flexible and innovative elements, such as large cantilevered structures, we designed homes that can adapt to changing needs and environmental conditions, ensuring long-term resilience and sustainability.
