Project Data:
Firm Name: WATG
Completion Date: 3/1/2019
Square Footage: 735294
Building Use: All-Inclusive Hard Rock Hotel
Location: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Project Description:
Situated in the Pueblo Bonito development in Cabo, the site has breathtaking views of the ocean and 349 meters of pristine sandy beachfront. Though not meant for swimming, one will see and feel the beach from every angle of the resort. The lobby welcomes guests with a portal framing the dramatic sea beyond. Each individual guestroom angles toward the ocean for the best views possible. Suites are afforded the ultimate in luxury and premium views, located at the ends of the wings nearest the water.
The hotel design is inspired by the crashing waves of the Pacific and the vibrant sound waves of the music that defines the Hard Rock brand. Where the two meet, a unique and contemporary resort is born. Poised to become the next hot destination in Cabo, the Hard Rock Hotel will truly be a place to see and be seen.
Development guidelines dictated a hard limit on building heights, due to million dollar homes and a golf course behind the hotel that needed to maintain tranquil views to the ocean. This led to the need for a low scale hotel that blends the brand’s traditionally loud aesthetic with a neutral sophistication.
