The jury agreed that this project was one of the better interiors presented and appreciated the choice of rich textures and materials throughout the space. The sophisticated ceiling treatments and use of contrast in color to strengthen the plan organization helped this project rise above the others. Congratulations Gensler.

Project Description:
The Warmest Welcome.
T2 knows hospitality. They are in the business of creating rich and unique experiences and breathtaking hotels; and for their new headquarters design, this client dreamed of reflecting the hospitable environments they create. The team’s goal was to create a comfortable, communal backdrop encouraging a free-flowing exchange of ideas. Originally, the building was designed for low 8’8” ceilings. Considering the client’s goal for an experiential environment that reflected “place”, the design team reached 15' at the elevator lobby, and 10' ceilings throughout, maximizing daylight and stunning panoramic views. Taking cues from their business, the new design brings the hospitality atmosphere into a workplace environment.
Out with the Receptionist. In with the Concierge.
The space is located on the penthouse level overlooking the sunkissed Pacific Ocean, and begins with a Concierge/Barista greeting. Rather than the expected reception area, Guests enter straight into the experience center greeted by a private chef, exhibition kitchen, and wine lounge.
The Experience Center.
Premium views are reserved for the CEO and guest experience center, a collaboration zone which spans the entire east facade of the space. Guests and employees can enjoy a meal by a private chef in the lifestyle kitchen, connect across the globe in the conference room or have a charette with colleagues in the studio lounge space. Hospitality inspired furnishings complement the space, including silk conference room rugs to exotic hand-carved benches made from petrified wood.
The Suite Life.
The CEO Suite has unobstructed views of Newport Harbor and Pacific Ocean. In true hospitality form, the Suite includes amenities including a private restroom and massage room, lounge with fireplace, whiskey bar and private wine lounge. Exquisitely executed details include motorized sliding doors, custom wood ceilings and bespoke accessories.
