Project Description:
A modern take on the traditional Spanish Hacienda style homes. This modern masterpiece brings the old-world detailing into a strong modern open setting. The design integrates the following architectural features and materials found in the neighboring communities such as Spanish roof tile, natural stones, wooded beams and stucco walls in order to connect the surrounding communities. Nestled between mountains and sea, the bold overhanging architecture throughout, works to direct one’s eye to the vast mountainous landscape and pristine panoramic ocean views. Carved out of the coastal bluffs of the coveted community of Maravilla Los Cabos, on the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This modern hacienda features are true to its style; one of them being the grand stone archway entry and fountain leading into the inviting central courtyard, where wooden accents and clay roofs juxtapose the expansive glazing systems to maximize the views and the architecture. The use of wooden overhanging beams visually draws one’s views to the coastal horizon that lays beyond the living spaces and large patios which overlook the infinity edge pool at the edge of the cliff serving to connect the landscape with the indoor and outdoor living spaces. Nevertheless, the connection to nature seeks to offer more than breathtaking views, it seeks to promote a healthier more active lifestyle with an elongated pool for laps facing the ocean and a gym room facing the mountainous landscape. Through the design, there is this constant interaction between the indoors and outdoors. In the lower level, which is subterranean there lays a more intimate courtyard, in the main level there are a variety or patios, courtyards with water and planting features, pool decks and other outdoor living and entertainment spaces. In the upper level that interaction translates in the form of uncovered and covered bridges, extensive curtain walls in every bedroom leading to private large balconies and lastly this grand design takes advantage of the highest portion of the structure to enjoy views from the roof deck with unobstructed 360 views of both the ocean and mountains.
